GIFFORDS Circus has rolled into Wiltshire with its new Wild West extravaganza, The Painted Wagon.

Prepare to be regaled with eye-catching acrobatics and aerialists from far and distant lands, dancing horses, bounty hunting and gold panning, all to the beat of the Dodge City, Giffords Circus's saloon band.

Troupe stalwarts Madame Nancy Trotter-Landry, rodeo rider Dan Fortt, jugglers Bibi and Bichu, El Gifford (Still Wanted) and funny man Tweedy the Clown are back for more antics and bewildering performances and are joined this year by a handful of newcomers, including teenage cowgirl Lilian Konyot and aerialists Duo Lyrical Lyra.

The show is directed once more by Cal McCrystal, the man behind Broadway hit, One Man, Two Guvnors and some of the iconic clown routines at Cirque du Soleil. He is also a sough-after comedy consultation and has lent his expertise on major films like The Dictator, Paddington Bear and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Established in 2000 by Nell and Toti Gifford, Giffords Circus is renowned for its eclectic style weaving theatre, opera, dance and puppetry into a 90-minute fun-filled show.

Giffords Circus will perform on Marlborough Common until September 5.

Tickets start at £15 for adults and £10 for children.
