SWINDON Town ladies produced a much improved performance at Tottenham Hotspur much to the delight of manager Steve Robertson.

Despite the final score reading 4-1 to the North Londoners, Robertson has drawn several positives from the game.

Town fell behind just after the half mark when Tottenham’s Bianca Baptise found the back of the net.

After going into the break a goal down, the visitors got back on level terms when Georgia Walters stabbed the ball home from close range in the 62nd minute.

However, with ten minutes remaining, Robertson’s team fell to pieces as they conceded three goals to gift Spurs a 4-1 win and all three points.

“We started well and kept them at bay," said the Swindon manager. "They (Tottenham) had the majority of possession but we worked hard and minimised them.

“They scored with about half an hour gone, but it was an even game. We came out in the second half and equalised - to be honest they were rocking for a bit then.

“But then we just faded away in the last 15 minutes and they had a spell where they rolled three past us.”

As it stands Robertson has a squad of 20 players, but he would like to make a few more additions if possible.

“We have a squad of 20 at the moment I’d like to add another two or three if I can because we need that competition, we need to keep adding to it,” added Robertson “It wasn’t a fitness thing I think it was more of a mental thing because they had worked so hard already.

“If we keep doing the right things and moving forward I think results will start to turn in the next five of six games, we weren’t expecting anything from the first few games, it’s all about the performances.

“I asked for a response after Charlton (Town lost 4-0) and I got one, now I’ll ask for another one after this game, it was always going to take a while for the girls and myself to get used to this level.”
