THE family of Linda Razzell have dismissed claims that Christopher Halliwell was behind her disappearance in 2002.

Former detective Steve Fulcher raised suspicions after Halliwell’s sentencing on Friday for the murder of Becky Godden in 2003 saying he could be linked to six other murders including Mrs Razzell’s.

But a spokesman for Mrs Razzell’s family told BBC Wales: “We were 100% happy with the police investigation.

“There is no doubt in our minds who the murderer was. There is no validity in the detective’s claim.”

The whereabouts of Mrs Razzell’s body is one of Swindon’s greatest mysteries, despite police searching more than 200 sites in the hope of discovering remains.

Her husband Glyn was convicted of her murder and is in jail despite protesting his innocence at appeals. He claims he was the victim of a conspiracy.

Linda vanished after dropping their children off at school and parking in Old Walcot before walking down an alleyway towards Swindon College.

Detectives believed Razzell bundled her into the boot of a friend’s Renault Laguna, which she would not have recognised. A speck of her blood was found in the boot of the company car along with a small smear in the passenger footwell mat.

Razzell, who has lost appeals against his conviction and length of sentence, remains adamant he is the victim of a conspiracy.
