FAIRFORD Town manager Gareth Davies will be hoping his side’s fine start won’t be rocked this weekend when they travel to South Gloucestershire.

Despite being bottom of the league, Davies knows that his Fairford side can’t take Tytherington Rocks lightly.

Fairford have started the season in fine style, losing just once and accruing a positive 25 goal difference in their opening six league encounters.

With a home tie against local rivals Highworth Town next Tuesday in the Challenge Cup, it could be easy to take their eye off the ball but Davies says he will not tolerate anything but 100 per cent.

“It has been going ok and we are on a half decent roll,” he said.

“The next four or five games, we’ll see how far we have come.

“We’ll just prepare like we do every week and the old cliché, we’ll take every game as they come and look for three points.

“You can only beat what is in front of you and you just need to go out there in the right frame of mind – just because they are bottom of the league, it doesn’t mean a thing.

“If we perform like we have done in the last few weeks then hopefully it will be a good result.”

Lee Smith misses out due to work but Davies welcomes back Jason Milhench from suspension “We pretty much have everyone available from last week,” he added.

“I have been quite lucky to date, some of them have been away, some have been working and I haven’t had to make any big decisions.

“At some point I am going to get a massive squad selection headache.

“The depth we have got in the squad is really good and we have got some very good players to choose from.”

Shrivenham sit two points behind Fairford in fourth place and travel to Abingdon United.

Meanwhile, New College Swindon will be looking for a response to being dumped out of the FA Vase by Wiltshire rivals Melksham Town last Friday when they travel to Hook Norton.

Purton also tasted defeat last week in the form of a 1-0 loss to Cirencester Town Development and will want to put that right at home to Letcombe.
