A DISTRAUGHT dog owner feels her beloved pet has been dognapped, after Brewster the red setter went missing in mysterious circumstances in Burbage yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

Police are appealing for information after the woman was out walking her two dogs, a red setter and a spaniel, across a ploughed field near the byway between Easton Royal and Ram Alley at 3.30pm.

As Brewster walked on ahead of his owner, he vanished from sight. She then saw a woman push something and heard a car door close, before the small white car made off towards Ram Alley and the Burbage bypass.

She then realised Brewster, a large, four-year-old dog who was wearing a roll collar with a brass disc and has two lumps on the top of his tail, had disappeared without trace.

Anyone with information on the dog's whereabouts should call PC Dave McCalmont on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111.
