A TEENAGER who was refusing to leave a Wroughton school was escorted out by police two hours later.

The 16-year-old was in the reception of The Ridgeway School and told staff today he would not leave until he spoke to a certain person who attends the school.

He was later calmed down by officers and taken home with no further action being taken.

A police spokesman said: “This incident relates to a 16-year-old male, not a pupil at the school, who had attended the reception of the school and was refusing to leave.

“Officers attended and resolved the situation. We were called at 12.35pm and all was sorted by 2.15pm.”

Officers also put out a message on Facebook to reassure the community their presence was not anything to do with the recent clown craze.
