TRAFFIC was queuing traffic on the M4 westbound between Leigh Delamere services and Junction 18 for Bath after a van overturned onto the embankment.
Police were called at 2.40pm after a report that a white Iveco panel van had overturned.
An air ambulance attended but it is not thought that anyone was hurt.
All lanes have now been re-opened, says Highways England, with queues easing as recovery work takes place on the hard shoulder.
