Employing the right methods with staff has proved a winner for Swindon-based Method Consulting.

The company has won the prestigious Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) UK small company Employer of the Year for 2016.

It is a national award that recognises engineering companies that have done most to recruit, train and support young engineers. It has categories for small, medium and large employers, as well as an overall award.

Method is a group built of environment sustainability engineers and consultants whose goal is to create buildings that are efficient and inspiring for its users and clients. Their 35 staff work to reduce the long-term environmental impact of buildings through sound engineering design and sustainability advice.

“We work very hard to recruit, develop and retain the best young engineers we can find,” says Antony Bursey, Method’s Senior Partner. “We employ high quality young engineers but we’ll only retain them if we motivate and train them to enjoy the benefits of developing such a rewarding career. I’m delighted that our hard work in this area has been recognised with this important national award that’s open to every engineering company in the UK.”

Since Method was founded in 2011, the engineering and sustainabilty practice has already been nominated for the same award in previous years and twice listed in the Building Magazine Top 50 Employer’s Guide, including 2016’s.
