WHEN director of rugby Martin Lloyd takes a look at who is missing for his Swindon College Old Boys side this weekend, it might quicker to see who is available.

The Pipers Way outfit entertain Crowthorne tomorrow in Berks, Berks and Oxon Premier with a total of 13 players missing through injury and unavailability.

Tucker Blinkhorn, the two-try hero from last weekend’s Dorset and Wilts Senior Vase 27-0 success over Lytchett Minster, is away, as is Drew Blinkhorn, Bobby Tilling and Liam Spillane.

Steve Oxley, Kev Scott and Matt Allen are missing due to a stag do, Jamie Pack is moving house, while both Gary Bandi and Stuart Knight are unavailable due to work commitments.

Lloyd will also be without Jason Patmore (thigh), Nick Tuckett (hamstring) and Michael Bizley (ankle) as they continue to recover from their respective injuries.

Despite all this, Old Boys, who were relegated from Southern Counties North last season, will be looking to maintain their perfect start to season.

“It is constant injuries at the moment. We have been really unlucky with injuries and unavailability, really,” Lloyd said.

“When we manage to get a full side out, we are going to be unstoppable.

“At the moment, we have a number of injuries and people who are taking niggles into games. Our physio staff are working overtime to keep people on the pitch.”

Tomorrow’s visitors were formed by the staff at Broadmoor following the closure of the Psychiatric Hospital and in the last few years, the club changed its name from Broadmoor Staff Rugby Club to its current guise.

“We’ve got Crowthorne on Saturday and they are the old Broadmoor Staff, from the prison, which is a bit unusual,” Lloyd said.

“We have a history with them from quite a few years ago when we used to play in the same league but we haven’t played them for a little while.

“We are looking forward to meeting them again. They have always been an entertaining side and a tough side to break down.

“We’re confident as always, you have to be when you are going well and let’s hope we can get a result.”

Meanwhile, Supermarine will be looking to bounce back from their Senior Vase last eight 50-14 defeat to Weymouth and Portland when they welcome Warminster to South Marston in Dorset and Wilts One North.
