PUSSYCAT DOLL Kimberly Wyatt and Olympic medallist Max Whitlock are inviting readers of the Advertiser, young and old, to liven up this week’s half term and Jump for Pudsey today at Boots in Swindon’s Brunel Centre.

The aim of the exercise is to have a bit of fun and to encourage people, children, parents and grandparents alike, to get active as well as to raise money for this most well-known of worthwhile children’s charities.

Boots UK has a goal of one million jumps to raise more than £100,000 for disadvantaged children up and down the UK who could do with some support to help improve their lives.

You do not have to go along to the Brunel Centre and make an exhibition of yourself to contribute to the cause, although that is sure to be a bit of a laugh.

You can simply bounce around a bit at home, take a group of friends to your local leisure centre or jump for joy on the village green.

Whatever you do you can be certain that you will be making a real difference to the life of at least one youngster.

By jumping 200 times you can help an 11-year-old child with autism to develop his co-ordination and confidence at a trampoline session.

With 700 jumps you can fund a deaf child to enjoy hands-on activities at an outdoor survival skills day.

Celebrity mum and dancer Kimberly Wyatt is passionate about the benefits of an active lifestyle and about the amazing work supported by BBC Children in Need.

“I’m thrilled to support Boots UK’s Jump for Pudsey campaign,” she said, “encouraging people of all ages to get active and jump to raise as much money as possible for BBC Children in Need, making a real difference to the lives of disadvantage children.”

The main jump day is tomorrow (Wednesday). You can raise money by asking your friends to sponsor you for just 1p a jump or you can just have fun and text a £3 donation by texting JUMP to 70313 or donate via mydonate.bt.com/events/jumpforpudsey
