WILTSHIRE Air Ambulance landed near the A419 this morning after a crash.

Police were called just before 8am after a Land Rover and a lorry collided, partly blocking the southbound carriageway of the A419 near junction 15 of the M4.

The 52-year-old man who was driving the Land Rover was taken to the Great Western Hospital by conventional ambulance after being assessed by paramedics.

Wiltshire Police said the road was fully opened by 11.15am.

  • Traffic was reported to be stationary for a time on the A419 near Blunsdon heading north during the morning rush-hour. 

Highways England said congestion was worst between the A361 and the junction with the A4311. Traffic conditions returned to normal after 9am.
