AFTER hitting the big time with his own music career, a man originally from Swindon is now hoping to offer others in the town a chance to record and release their own song with a fully paid sponsorship.

Justin Lock, or Jutty Fennix, his stage name, was born in the town but was brought up in Cirencester and found fame after one of his tracks was picked up by BBC Introducing.

Now he is hoping his success will help to inspire other young music producers and give them the confidence to share their music with a wider audience.

Justin previously worked for the Swindon Advertiser in 1997 as a member of the advertising team.

He has since moved to Grantham, Lincolnshire, where he is now employed as a flying instructor.

As part of the fully sponsored recording session that is up for grabs, Justin is also offering to produce the track.

And Pete Maher - whose previous clients include Lana Del Rey, Katy Perry and U2 - will master the song that eventually makes it through.

The finished track will then be released on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and many more music outlets with no financial outlay required by the applicant.

Justin said: “I want to take an artist from the potential they have and develop them.”

“It is a great opportunity for someone looking to get a start in the music industry.”

The selection process for songs will begin in April/May and will be followed by auditions which will be held in Swindon.

An exact date is yet to be confirmed but all the information will be available to everyone who is shortlisted.

Anyone interested in taking part is asked to submit an audition piece on the website www.juttyfennix.com/audition
