POLICE officers descended on the community centre at Christ Church, in Old Town, as an event got out of hand and a number of emergency service crews were required to restore order.
Four people, three women and one man, were arrested.
Witnesses reported seeing 10 police vehicles and an ambulance shortly after 10.30pm on Saturday night.
They said youths appeared to be drunk and fighting in the church grounds.
A spokesman from Wiltshire Police yesterday confirmed that officers dealt with an incident but they said that it was confined to the community centre rather than the church.
A 16-year-old girl from Swindon was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and a 20-year-old woman, also from Swindon, was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.
A police spokesman confirmed that no further action will be taken against either of them.
An 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both from Swindon, were arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
They were given fixed penalty notices and released without further action.
