TWINKLE-TOED young dancers and singers are limbering up to head to Disneyland Paris for a fairy tale competition

The dynamic dancers from Greenmeadow’s Kitty Langan Studios School of Performing Arts will fly to Disneyland Paris in March to take part in the international Disney Dance Camp competition.

The competition gathers dancers from a variety of backgrounds to compete in dance, singing and musical theatre categories.

The 37-strong team, which includes 18 dancers aged seven to 11 will battle it out against performers from English-speaking schools across the UK and Ireland

Studio principal Katie Langan said: “It’s a great competition for us to get involved in because there is the European side of it, they get to compete against 20 other dance schools from across the UK and of course they can improve the dancing and singing abilities.

“It feels more special as a competition because it’s international.£

The team will be hoping to replicate last year’s success which saw them walk away with 26 trophies.

Kitty Langan, which currently has more than 90 dancers under its tutelage, teaches a range of dance disciplines including jazz, ballet, musical theatre and contemporary

Katie said: “I know they will make me proud. I feel very excited about and more nervous that I was last year because I know what to expect this time

“Last year we didn’t expect to get anywhere and we came away with so many trophies so we know we’re capable of winning again.

“The organisation side of things has started a lot earlier and all the girls really want to do well

“We should come away with the same, if not more trophies than we did last year."
