A SHOP worker and shopper were verbally abused after confronting a suspect shoplifter in Swindon.
The incident happened around 4pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in the Co-op on the High Street, Old Town; a man was spotted by a male employee acting suspiciously in the store - it appeared he was attempting to take goods without trying to pay for them. When the member of staff challenged the man he became verbally abusive, a male member of the public, who was shopping at the time, intervened but was also verbally abused by the suspect before the offender left the store.
Pictures of a man officers would like to speak to in relation to this incident are attached.
PC Scott Young said: "This is busy shop, so someone must have seen or heard something suspicious or the incident itself.
"If that is you, please come forward."
