RAIL replacement buses will be operating from Swindon late at night this week while engineering work is carried out overnight.

Great Western Railway has warned passengers that buses will be operating from Swindon station to other stations further west along the route while engineering work is completed, which will affect some passengers.

Services affected include the 10.15pm London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads service and the 11.30pm service to Cardiff Central, which will not be stopping at Chippenham or Bath Spa until Friday.

Buses will instead run from Swindon to these stations.

The 11.36pm service to Cheltenham Spa will also be diverted tonight, tomorrow and Thursday night and will only call at Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa.

Buses will run from Swindon to Kemble, Stroud, Stonehouse Post Office, Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa for passengers travelling between these stations.

GWR has advised passengers to double check the timing of their services before leaving for the station by visiting www.gwr.com or calling National Rail Enquiries on 03457 484950.

Further engineering work will begin on Saturday.
