THE next meeting of the Stratton St Margaret Parish Council will take place on Tuesday, February 14.

The Open Spaces Committee will start proceedings at 7pm at the council offices in Grange Drive.

All members of the public are welcome to attend and to raise any issues during the brief question and answer session.

Items expected to be discussed include Coun Steve Benson’s (Coleview ward) proposal to plant trees and install outdoor exercise equipment on a patch of land adjacent to Weedon Road, Kilsby Drive, Harlestone Road and Gayton Way.

Councillors also expect to be given an update on the upgrade and possible reduction of noticeboards around the parish, as well as allocating time to consider the removal of benches at the Moonrakers open space.

The most notable item on the agenda, however, will be the discussion about whether or not to introduce an autumn show with the aim of bringing together the local community and showcasing horticulture and conservation skills that are undertaken within the parish.

There will also be an update on the parish council’s Streetsmart services and a chance to review the budget for the Open Spaces Committee for the period April 2016 – December 2016.
