TWO men who took part in a burglary at the offices of a car wash have admitted their part in the raid.

Billy Trotman and Michael O'Driscoll pleaded guilty to carrying out the break in at IMO, on Hobley Drive, on Saturday October 15.

And Trotman also changed his plea to admit carrying out a ram raid at a dentist's surgery a week and a half later.

The 34-year-old was part of the incident at The Smile Dental Practice, when a car was smashed into the building in a bid to steal.

Trotman, of Cleverton Court, Penhill, pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary and O'Driscoll, 39, of Woodsman Road, Abbey Meads, to one.

Both had denied a charge of aggravated burglary at the car park and O'Driscoll also maintained a not guilty plea relating to the dentist and prosecutors will not seek a trial.

It is alleged that a man who was working at IMO was struck with a metal bar by a masked raider during the break in.

Judge Tim Mousley QC, sitting at Swindon Crown Court, adjourned the case to Friday March 10 to give the probation service time to compile presentence reports.

But he warned the pair that all options would remain open including an immediate jail term and remanded them in custody.

A third man, William O'Driscoll, 36, who gave the same address as his brother, has pleaded not guilty to aggravated burglary and two counts of burglary.

He was not in court for the hearing and also denies a charge of common assault in relation to the car wash worker and is due to face trial in April.
