A puppy and its owner had to be rescued from the ditch of the A419 last night.
Emergency services arrived at the scene of the collision on the busy A-road near the Nythe turn-off shortly after 7pm.
Members of the Tri-Force Police Team, paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service and firefighters from Swindon and Stratton all attended the scene, whiSking the puppy named Watson to safety.
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Upon arrival, crews discovered a road traffic collision involving one car into a ditch. A specialist aerial appliance was requested, which was also mobilised from Swindon fire station.
"The firefighters assisted the ambulance service in rescuing one adult and a collie cross puppy from the vehicle, using a triple extension ladder and manpower to assist the casualty and puppy up the ditch to a safety."
