QUIZ teams in Swindon will put their general knowledge to the test next month in an effort to raise money for a good cause.

The NSPCC’s annual quiz night will take place on March 7 at the Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Club in Malmesbury Road.

Swindon Business Care for Children, a local organisation that supports young people and their families, have organised the event, which last year raised around £1,500.

SBCC have been raising money for the NSPCC for more than 30 years and helped fund the first NSPCC centre in Swindon.

Alan Fletcher, chair of SBCC, said: “The event is a great night. Everyone loves a quiz and Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Club is an excellent facility.

“There is still time to join us so please contact us and submit a team, the more the merrier. All money raised will go to support this very worthy cause.

“We are very grateful to the rugby club for their support and also to Barclays bank who is donating some matched funding to this event.”

Caroline Morgan, fundraising manager for Swindon, said: “We are so lucky to have dedicated supporters such as Alan and we couldn’t do our work without them.

“Almost 90 per cent of NSPCC funding comes from donations so we rely on events like these to provide vital services for children, such as Childline and the school service.

“It allows us to continue the fight for every childhood.”

Teams of up to four members can enter for £50 per team, including food. To book contact Alan Fletcher on alanfletcherswindon@sky.com.
