A MAN has been arrested following a vehicle pursuit in Swindon this afternoon.
Officers attempted to stop a white transit van but the driver made off, leading police vehicles on a chase that ended at the junction of Whitbourne Avenue and Queen's Drive.
The incident, which ended at around 3.30pm, resulted in a police vehicle colliding with the side of the van.
The collision was not serious and the van only sustained minor damage.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for the police and driving with excess alcohol in his system.
He was taken into custody at Gablecross Police Station.
One police officer received minor injuries during the incident.
A partial road closure was put in place to allow officers to work safely at the scene but no delays were reported.
The van was recovered shortly before 5pm.
