A NURSERY is celebrating after being awarded a host of good ratings across the board in its latest Ofsted report.

Bramble House Day Nursery opened in the Techno Trading Estate in 2013 and has retained its Good rating since its first Ofsted inspection back in 2014.

It received good ratings all round in effectiveness of leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for children.

Special mention was given to the staff’s warm relationship with the children under their care, the support given to children with special educational need and disabilities and the good examples set by ‘role model’ managers and staff.

Praise was also given to the emphasis on teaching children about the wider world including celebrating other culture’s religions and celebrations such as Diwali and Chinese New Year.

Ofsted inspector Julie Swann said: “All children develop the key skills that they need for the next stage in their learning, such as starting school. Children are sociable independent learners who are inquisitive to learn.

“The manager is ambitious for her staff team to succeed. The manager and staff are qualified and experienced. They are keen to further their professional skills.

A statement on behalf of owner and manager Louise Saunders and deputies Stacey Green and Philippa Collis said the team were delighted with the positive rating once again.

“Our leadership team are thrilled that the inspector paid tribute to the fact that 'all children develop the key skills that they need for the next stage of learning and that the children are sociable independent learners who are inquisitive to learn.

“This speaks volumes about our team of dedicated practitioners, whom work extremely hard to provide a rich, stimulating learning environment for all ages and stages.

“We are particularly proud to have maintained our 'Good ' grading again, as Ofsted has raised their standards.

“Ofsted also highlighted that 'the manager and all staff are good role models and have high expectations of all the children.”

The nursery fell short of an outstanding rating because at times staff missed chances to challenge children’s learning even further and did not always allow children enough time to process their thoughts and answer questions.
