A MAN is currently in a critical condition after being hit by a lorry.
Emergency crews were called to a "serious road traffic collision" at 1.38pm on the dual carriageway outside the Great Western Hospital.
The pedestrian suffered a head injury and is currently being cared for at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
Marlborough Road inbound from the GWH is currently closed while police carry out investigations.
The road is expected to be closed for some time, but drivers should still be able to access the GWH.
A spokesman from the South West Ambulance Service said: "We attended with a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance and the casualty was taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment."
