A MAN who was involved in the trade in hard drugs has been warned he could be facing a jail term.

Sadeq Ali had been due to stand trial after pleading not guilty to possessing cocaine with intent to supply on Friday July 8 last year.

But his case was brought back before the court where the 31-year-old, of Dowling Street, admitted the offence.

He admitted possessing heroin and cocaine with intent to supply Wednesday August 10 at an earlier hearing.

Giles Nelson, defending, asked for the case to be adjourned so a presentence report could be prepared.

Judge Tim Mousley QC agreed and released him on bail to a date to be fixed following the trial of two other men.

He said "You have now pleaded guilty to a serious offence which crosses the custody threshold so all sentencing options will be open to the court.

"I can't give you a date when you will be sentenced at the moment because it depends on when the trial of your co-defendants is completed."

Henry Waigo 33, of Bromley, Kent, denied the July cocaine charge and also possessing criminal property in the form of cash on the same day.

Peter Mascarenhas, 31, of Bishop's Stortford, Herts, denied being concerned in the supply of cocaine between July 2015 and January last year and money laundering.

The pair are on bail and awaiting trial on a date to be fixed.
