THE next Repair Café and Free Shop at Savernake Street Social Hall will be held on Sunday between 2pm and 5pm.

There will be the chance to get broken items mended at the Repair Café, have bikes fixed, or the opportunity to pick up a free treasure at the Free Shop.

Live music will be provided by Kitchen Sink Dramas, Woody and Maria Cormack.

There will also be an opportunity to find out about free workshops to make bunting to display at community events.

Free Shop and the Repair Café have combined and will take place every two months throughout 2017, each time on Sunday afternoon between 2-5pm. After Sunday’s event the next ones will be held on May 14, July 23, September 24 and November 12.

Visitors are welcome to bring or take up to five items at Free Shop, and bring along items to be repaired by volunteers at the Repair Cafe. On Sunday there will be help available to mend textiles and clothing, jewellery, and general items/bric-a-brac – and check problems with laptop software, such as speed. The Mobile Cycle Medic will be on hand to check and fix bikes, and Swindon Travel Choices will offer security marking.

There will be tea and cake to buy, and while repairs are free, donations are welcome towards the overheads. Electrical items are not suitable for either the shop or café.
