A TERRIFIED woman was pinned to her sofa and stabbed twice as two men ransacked a home on Friday night.

Detectives are now urgently seeking the public’s help to find the men who carried out the attack at an upstairs flat in Rodbourne Road.

At about 11pm, the couple who live in the flat went out for a while, leaving the woman’s 52-year-old mother alone watching television.

A short time later, two men broke in by smashing their way through the glass front door.

The mother was pinned to the sofa and threatened by the men, who were demanding money.

One of the men stabbed her in the arm and thigh.

The pair ransacked the flat, ripping the wardrobe doors off their hinges and slashing the sofa.

When they heard the couple returning, one of them punched the terrified older woman on both cheeks before running downstairs and punching her daughter in the face.

The men made off in what was described as a black VW Passat. An ambulance was called and Wiltshire Police officers responded.

They are both described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, in their late 20s, of average height, medium build and wearing hoodies.

Detective Sergeant Scott Anger of Swindon CID said: “This was a traumatic and violent experience for both the mother and her daughter.

“I am seeking the public’s help to find these two men who subjected the older woman to a frightening attack.

“Anyone who knows two men matching the descriptions or who saw two men in the Rodbourne Road area in a black Passat late on Friday night is asked to call us urgently on 101.
