PUPILS at Ridgeway Farm CE Academy in Purton, can now enjoy reading some new books after a generous donation from housebuilder Taylor Wimpey.
The developer’s Bristol and Oxfordshire regional business units have joined forces to give £250 to the academy to fund new books for its library.
The donation was part of World Book Day which this year celebrated its 20th birthday.
Rob Baker, the sales executive at Taylor Wimpey’s Greenfields at Ridgeway Farm development, which is very close to the school, paid a visit to the youngsters and shared in a special storytelling session.
Laura Gibbard, deputy head at the academy, said: “We are extremely grateful for Taylor Wimpey’s donation towards new books for the school library.
“We are passionate about reading at our school and really encourage children to fall in love with reading and get lost in the magic of a book.
“This donation has helped us to purchase some of the latest in children’s literature for our school library.”
Danielle Heard, the acting sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Bristol, said: “Reading is such an important skill, we are delighted to be making this donation to support the school.”
