Dale Trio at finale of Swindon Recital Series

Swindon Art Centre, Devizes Road, Old Town, Swindon

SULTRY, SEDUCTIVE, EXCITING, PASSIONATE!

Just some of the words used by audience members to describe the playing of the Dale Trio. Swindon Recital Series’ (SRS) final concert of the 2016/17 season was a spectacular tour-de-force from sisters Caroline and Miranda Dale (cello and violin) and SRS Artistic Director Paul Turner piano. All international artists in their own right and all having performed individually for SRS, Paul described how difficult it was to get everyone together in the same country and on the same stage at the same time.

They clearly enjoyed playing together and their performance would have graced the grandest venue.

Following Schubert’s hauntingly beautiful Notturno they portrayed the drama, light-heartedness, stillness and sometimes ruffled calm of Brahms’ Piano Trio before a joyful and spirited rendition of Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires brought the audience to their feet in a rousing end to a season of jazz-inspired music.

Such is the calibre of professional musicians attracted to play SRS recitals that there is never a dull concert but this performance by the Dale Trio was another step up.
