WILTSHIRE Police have released an image of a possible witness to a horrific incident in which a woman was stabbed twice during a robbery in Rodbourne Road.

At about 11.30pm on Friday, March 10, two men broke into a first-floor flat while the 52-year-old woman was at home alone watching television.

The men smashed through the glass front door and threatened the woman, before demanding money.

One of the men stabbed the woman in the arm and thigh before ransacking the flat.

Detective Constable Sally Booth, of Swindon CID, said: “We believe the man pictured could be a potential witness – he walked past the location and the vehicle which the suspects are believed to have left in.

“I would like to stress that we do not believe this man was involved in the incident, but he could have information which could help our investigation.

“We are continuing our enquiries in relation to this incident which was extremely frightening for the victim who was home alone at the time. Thankfully, she is now recovering well.

"The suspects are described as being of Middle eastern appearance, in their late 20s, of average height and medium build and each wearing hoodies. They left the scene in what was described as a black VW Passat.

“I am keen to hear from the public if they can help us identify this witness, or if they have information in relation to the attack.”
