THE next big stars are being sought to star alongside home-grown talent Billie Piper in a feature film currently in production.

Des Hamilton Casting will take over MECA on Sunday in the search of both male and female roles in the film.

They are currently casting for a boy and girl aged 12 to 14 and another girl aged 15 to 17 to play lead roles in a feature film.

The company is known for their unorthodox methods of casting, often visiting schools and drama groups when casting for films, rather then going via the traditional actor and agent route.

A spokesman said: “Des Hamilton discovered Thomas Turgoose in This Is England in a centre for children who have been excluded from school, and we cast a large part of the Channel 4 TV drama Top Boy through visiting schools and after school clubs.

“It is a family drama. Samantha Morton and Billie Piper are attached to star.”

It is being produced by Sadie Frost’s UK production outfit Blonde To Black Pictures.

The film, currently in development, will mark the debut of photographer turned writer-director Tom Beard, who has previously directed music videos for FKA Twigs, Jamie T and Klaxons.

The film has been developed with Creative England and the production is aiming for a summer 2017 shoot.

“We are holding an open call this Sunday at MECA from 12pm to 5pm where any girls/boys who fit the brief can turn up to try out.

“I cannot stress enough that no previous acting experience is necessary.”
