Women taken to hospital after fire breaks out in block of flats
Two women have been taken to Great Western Hospital after a kitchen fire on Alton Close in Penhill this afternoon.
Firefighters were called to reports of a fire on the sixth floor of a block of flats on Alton Close at 12.42pm this afternoon.
Four fire crews were sent to the fire, including one fire appliance from Cirencester.
Two women were treated for smoke inhalation and later taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police closed roads surrounding the flats, but these were reopened at 2.15pm.
