Prontaprint franchise is a big challenge

11:21am Thursday 5th July 2007

When Mark Munday decided to take on the Prontaprint franchise for Swindon he knew what he was letting himself in for.

For the past three years he had worked as a business support manager for the company, providing advice to print shops in his region.

Mark has now taken over the Swindon franchise and moved the business from its premises in Faringdon Road to Westmead Industrial Estate.

"My experience of working for Prontaprint is invaluable," he says. "I have walked into this with my eyes open. I also know Swindon very well as I was a manager at Asda for a number of years.

"However, even though I have been giving out advice to people in exactly my position for the last three years, nothing prepares you for running your own business."

Solicitors Charles Lucas & Marshall advised Mark on buying the franchise and arranged the lease on his new premises in Westmead.

Julie Lloyd, who handled the legal work, believes Mark stands a great chance of making a success of the business.

"He has a wonderful attitude towards customer service. Relocating to new premises in Westmead means he can invest in the business more easily."
