THIS Easter holiday Steam Railway Museum is right on track for things to do for all the family. Among the story-telling displays, there are legendary steam locomotives, including King George V and City of Truro.

There is a train simulator and an interactive Signal Box. Children receive a special GWR certificate when they ‘change the points’ in the authentic GWR Signal Box. There are a collection of working vintage slot machines in the Seaside Pier area and a fun activity challenge: Bigger, Better, Faster! to mark ‘KGV90’ - the 90th Birthday of loco legend, King George V! The challenge begins at 11am for six to 12-year-olds and is to make a car and try to get on to our leader board for the furthest distance travelled!

The King George V was built in 1927 and was larger and more powerful than earlier locomotives. Meet the Railway Workers begins at 10am with a chance to chat to real GWR engine drivers and signalmen. Just head for No. 4073 Caerphilly Castle and you’ll find friendly STEAM volunteers ready to welcome you aboard. STEAM is at Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon. For more details call 01793 466637.
