FIREFIGHTERS from four Swindon stations tackled a blaze involving multiple vehicles on an industrial estate near Swindon this evening.
The incident, which involved a number of pickup trucks, sent black smoke high into the air.
Residents as far away as Old Town reported seeing the thick clouds originating at the scene.
A fire service spokesman said: "At 6.41pm we received the first of eight calls to a large fire near to Braydon Lane, Cricklade.
"Initially one fire engine was mobilised from Cricklade and one from Stratton.
"Once in attendance the crew requested a further two fire engines, which proceeded from Swindon and Stratton fire stations, and a water carrier, which proceeded from Royal Wootton Bassett.
"The fire involved pickup truck bodies and an insulated refrigeration truck body.
"The fire was extinguished using two main jets, along with a thermal imaging camera and drags."
The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.
