PIOTR Rak, 30, of Chatsworth Road, has been fined £460 and banned after he pleaded guilty to drink-driving after he was found with 50mcg of alcohol in his breath.

He was stopped on March 26 on Birdcombe Road, Westlea, when he was behind the wheel of a 16-plate Renault van. The legal limit is 35mcg.

He was banned from driving for three years and told to pay a £46 victim surcharge and contribute £85 towards the cost of prosecution.

A man who admits indecent exposure has been remanded on bail until May 9, when he will return to Swindon Magistrates' Court for sentencing.

Darren Gunn, 46, of Stratton Court, Purton, indicated a plea of guilty to a charge of indecent exposure after intentionally exposing his genitals in a public area earlier this month.

Danny O’Reilly, 24, of Queens Drive, has been handed a four-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, after pleading guilty to causing actual bodily harm.

O’Reilly was ordered to undertake 200 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months and told to pay £750 compensation.

He was also told to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and a further £85 prosecution costs.

Liam Latham, 26, of Welcombe Avenue, will face a trial at Chippenham Magistrates' Court next month after being charged with several offences.

The charges date from Saturday but at a hearing at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Monday, Latham pleaded not guilty to taking a vehicle without consent, criminal damage and assault.

He did, however, plead guilty to a number of other charges including using a vehicle without third party insurance, driving without a licence and breaking bail conditions. The case was adjourned until May 23.

Jago Turner, 25, of Eyam Road, has been handed a suspended sentence for assaulting a man by beating. Turner will go to prison for four months if he offends again within the next 18 months.

He was told to undergo 30 days of rehabilitation activities and to pay £100 compensation and a victim surcharge of £155. He pleaded guilty to the offence.

A man accused of assaulting a woman has been remanded on bail until May 3, when he will return to Swindon Magistrates 'Court to make his plea.

Paul Carter, 26, of Dydale Road, was arrested for breaking his previous bail conditions after banging repeatedly on the window of a flat which he was not allowed to visit.

A woman who pleaded guilty to stealing £20 of products from Wilkinsons in Fleet Street has been ordered to pay the money back as compensation for her crime.

Michelle Foss, 36, from Cricklade Road stole food and laundry products from the shop in February this year. She was also ordered to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service. The money must be paid in full by May 13.

A man from Downton Road in Swindon has pleaded guilty to using threatening or disorderly and abusive words or behaviour.

Matthew Royle, 29, must pay hundreds of pounds as punishment for the offence which occurred on February 5 this year.

Royle was fined £166 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £30 to fund victim services and pay £85 of costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

From April 21, he must pay £20 a week until all £281 is paid off.

A 24-year-old Abingdon man has pleaded not guilty to assaulting a police constable on February 5.

Jason Spraggs, 24 of John Mason Road was released on conditional bail until the hearing on June 15 at Chippenham Magistrates' Court

Myrtle Gardens resident Dawid Schulz, 41, pleaded guilty to drink-driving when he appeared before Swindon magistrates.

The court was told that on March 26 he had 103mcgs of alcohol in 100ml of his breath while behind the wheel of a 55-plate Ford Focus on St Mary’s Grove. The legal driving limit is 35mcgs.

He was told to attend 20 rehabilitation activity days and was fined £185.

He was also told to make an £85 contribution to victim services and was disqualified from driving for 25 months.

Simanga Njara was ordered to pay more than £400 and disqualified for three years after he was caught driving an Audi A4 in Polaris Way on March 25 while over the legal limit.

Swindon magistrates heard Njara, of Lypping Court Road, Bristol, had a level of 69 microgrammes of alcohol in his breath. The limit is 35mcg.

Njara, 44, admitted the charge along with having no insurance and obstructing police. At the hearing on April 12 he was fined a total of £250 with £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
