POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an incident took place in Swindon involving a mother, her child and a unknown man.
At around 4pm on Sunday, April 9, the woman and her two-year-old were walking along Curtis Street, towards the Tented Market, when they were approached by a man.
He took hold of the child's hand and said: "You come with me; I take you to school."
The mother told him to let go, which he did.
The man is described as a middle-aged Indian man, around 5ft 2ins tall, slim with short dark hair.
He was wearing a light blue shirt and cream-coloured trousers and was pulling a blue shopping bag on wheels.
Det Con Snez Lennon, from Swindon CID, said: "If you were in the area at that time and heard or saw what happened or anything which seemed suspicious, please contact me."
If you can help police with their enquiries contact Swindon CID on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
