WHEN three parents decided to form a kids football club back in the early nineties, they could never have imagined it would develop into such a successful organisation.

Robins FC was founded in 1991 and last year marked 25 years of providing opportunities for Swindon youngsters to take to the football field.

On Saturday, from 7pm, they are holding an anniversary celebration at the County Ground Legend’s Lounge and would like as many former players and coaches as possible to come along.

Club Secretary, Teresa Trueman, said: “We’re so passionate about this club, the three of us that formed it are still here now.

“Managers have come and gone but we’re still here.

“We’re looking forward to Saturday night, it will be nice to celebrate 25 years.

“We want to extend it to our past players but trying to contact them is difficult.

“We’re going to have a two course meal, Phil King is doing the MCing and there will be a tribute band.

“People can pay on the night as long as we know they’re coming.”

The event will also feature awards, a prize draw and an auction.

Tickets are £25 and can be reserved by emailing victoriaconvey@aol.com
