SWINDON’S newest movie experience will be launched this evening as the Central Community Cinema hosts a free showing of the Oscar-winning musical La La Land.
Created by film-obsessed staff and volunteers from the Mechanics’ Institution Trust, with support from Cinema For All and the Swindon Film Society, the Central Community Cinema is based at the Central Community Centre off Faringdon Road.
Boasting an 80-seat capacity and a brand new projector, the venue will also have a bar selling alcoholic and soft drinks. Popcorn will of course also be on offer.
Tonight’s launch screening of La La Land, which will get underway at 7pm, is free to attend.
Future films will cost only £4, or just £3 for residents in the local catchment area of Central Community Centre.
Central Community Cinema was established to offer movie-goers across Swindon an affordable night out on every second and fourth Saturday of the month.
Future programming will be audience-led with questionnaires, online surveys and discussion after the screenings providing the team with enough information to put together an exciting mix of titles over the coming months.
