COUNCILLORS in Stratton last week voted to re-elect Joe Tray as chairman of the Stratton St Margaret Parish Council.
Coun Tray has held the position for the past two years and received the full support of fellow councillors.
A pleased Coun Tray said: “I am very proud to be elected as chair for another 12 months. It has been a very enjoyable couple of years doing it and I’m looking forward to doing the best I can for the people of Stratton St Margaret.”
Coun Tray will be supported this year by Roger Smith as vice chair.
“I am looking forward to working closely with Roger,” he said.
“We have been chair and vice chair before and it worked very well.”
Coun Tray looked ahead with optimism to the coming year, which will see the return of such popular events as the Stratton Stroll and the Stratton Festival.
The parish council meets more than 40 times a year at Grange Leisure and members of the public are encouraged to attend meetings, held on Tuesdays from 7pm.
The parish council thanked outgoing vice chair Coun Teresa Page for her support and dedication over the past 12 months.
