Market manager Kardien Gerbrands talks about Swindon farmers' markets

It’s nice to see the market beginning to show signs of recovery after a few difficult months and this Sunday will be the biggest market of the year so far.

Our new weekly traders such as Tuga Pastries and Momo King, both from Swindon, have settled in well and with the seasonal stalls such as Seven Bridges Honey, Kelsmor Dairy, Aristone garden ornaments and The Strawberry Stop returning there is a definite buzz about the place.

Over at Hinton Marsh farm they have a special offer on their standard award winning sausages this week with three packs on offer for £9! This week’s flavours are the Italian Herb pork sausage with basil, tomato, garlic and parmesan, the Honey roast pork sausage which is a plain pork sausage gently sweetened with honey and the Harissa pork sausage with a warm spicy taste that is not overpoweringly hot.

Hinton have a full range of meat products alongside the sausages with free range pork, beef, and chalkdown lamb always available plus free range chicken, and goose eggs in season and a new line in dog treats and chews like pig’s ears.

If you are browsing the stall it will be hard to resist the weekly whole hog roast with succulent pulled pork rolls served with homemade fresh bramley apple sauce and stuffing, yum yum! Of course all this is served with a smile from the three lovely ladies on the stall! the market runs every Sunday at the Designer Outlet in Swindon from 10-4.
