LEADERS from the worlds of business and politics have come together to celebrate the re-opening of one of Swindon's largest office buildings.

Last Thursday, then Deputy Mayor of Swindon, Coun Maureen Penny, joined the business community to celebrate the £2m refurbishment of 3 Newbridge Square.

Formerly the Tricentre 3 building, 3 Newbridge Square has been completely remodelled to offer a more modern working environment which it is hoped will attract significant interest from Swindon’s business community.

Coun Penny, who stepped up the mayoral top spot on the day after the unveiling event, said: "The regeneration of the town centre in Swindon is moving forward with the Kimmerfields development and the electrification of the railways amongst many others.

"The opening of this new venture in Swindon is very timely, the need for excellent serviced office space is important to support the thriving SME sector.

"This £2m refurbishment will provide excellent space and facilities for future growth of the business economy in Swindon."

Following the refurbishment, the ground floor now features sound proofed meeting pods, with Scandinavian-inspired furnishings and design.

The first floor of the building offers a variety of serviced office accommodation, with spaces suitable between one and ten people.

The remaining four floors, which make up 34,518 sq ft of space in total, are available to be leased floor by floor, or by part floor, and are aimed at small and medium sized businesses.

David Thwaites, Senior Asset Manager for FI-REM, who own the building, added: “We’re very pleased to launch 3 Newbridge Square to the local business community and to have already received such positive comments about the refurbished space available.

"The building is in an enviable location for businesses looking for a base in Swindon. Just a few minutes’ walk from the train station, with direct links to London and the south west, and just a stone’s throw from the bus station. Allocated parking is also available on request."
