SWINDON Town have sent fans who have already committed to a season ticket for next term a goodwill gesture following their relegation to League Two.

Season ticket holders have received a letter, addressed from Town chairman Lee Power, with a £20 voucher for the club shop.

The gesture comes as Swindon have taken the decision to revise their season ticket prices for the 2017/18 campaign, which have been reverted back to the Phase One prices.

Swindon froze their season ticket prices back in February for those purchasing a seat during the club’s early bird period, which ended at the end of March, with the cheapest ticket costing £345 for those renewing in the Town End.

The move comes to improve season ticket sales, a figure for which has not been revealed by the club, for a campaign in which Power hopes will see Town push for promotion.

“Last season did not go to plan, like you, I am also devastated to see our club slip into League Two,” reads the letter.

“This football club should not be playing in the fourth tier of English football and it is our aim to build a competitive squad that is capable of mounting a promotion push next season.

“Your support will be crucial as ever in 2017.18 and, with this in mind, we have taken the decision to revise our season ticket prices for the new season, which have been reverted back to Phase 1 prices.

“As you have already renewed your season ticket at these prices, please find enclosed a £20 voucher which can be redeemed in the club shop.

“We want to make this gesture in order to thank you for your loyal and continued support.”

The club have not responded to the Adver’s request for an update on season ticket sales at this stage.
