A GIRL pinned another teenager up against a fence in an attack in the town back in March.

The 14-year-old pleaded guilty to assault by beating and using threatening and/or abusive words like to cause harassment, alarm or distress during the incident on March 9.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Swindon Youth Court on Tuesday morning to face the consequences of her crimes which happened just after 5pm.

Prosecuting Keith Ballinger told the court that the victim was walking along a street in the town with her friend when the teenager approached her and accused her of ‘saying things’ about her.

The court heard how the defendant then pinned down her victim to a fence with her two fists on her throat.

“The victim felt weak and helpless and the two males with her [the defendant] kept saying ‘go on punch her’,” Mr Ballinger added.

“One filmed the incident on their mobile phone.”

The teenager was already bound by a youth rehabilitation order with a supervision requirement which was imposed last month for a different offence.

However, at the hearing on Tuesday, magistrates revoked that order in place of a different youth rehabilitation order for 12 months which includes an electronic monitoring tag, meaning that the girl must reside at her home address between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

She must also pay her victim £50 compensation.
