POLICE are appealing for information after expensive jewellery was stolen in a burglary in Briar Fields last month.

The offenders broke into a house near Ocotal Way between 2.30pm and 4.30pm on May 25.

A rear patio door was smashed and several items belonging to a woman in her 70's were stolen, including a gold eternity ring with approximately seven diamonds, a gold engagement ring with a cluster of diamonds surrounding a blue sapphire, a silver limited edition eternity cross with a silver chain, and a gold St Christopher’s cross.

PC Laura Barwood said: “Items stolen during this burglary include money, and a number of sentimental items of jewellery including an engagement ring and eternity rings.

"They have a huge amount of sentimental value to the owner and we would really like to be able to return them to the owner.

“This incident happened in the middle of the afternoon – therefore it is likely that there would have been people around the area at the time.

"Did you see or hear anybody acting suspiciously? Can you provide us with any information on who may be responsible?”

Anyone with information should call police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
