STAFF at Swindon’s British Heart Foundation furniture store in the town centre dressed in red on Friday and gave away some delicious cupcakes as part of a national day of fundraising.
The charity’s nation-wide ‘Wear it Beat it’ initiative saw staff members wear red to raise awareness of heart disease.
Store manager Tomas Kasparyan said: “We are all wearing red to help fight heart disease.
“Customers have been coming in the store and have been commenting on what we are doing and they think it’s great.
“It’s really important because people these days, especially young people, don’t always see heart disease as a threat to life.”
Tomas also said the charity plays an important role in helping those who have heart disease manage their problems on a day-to-day basis.
“We are really trying to bring young people in and get them more acquainted with issues surrounding heart disease and all the help that is currently out there.”
