THE performers booked to stun crowds at the Bowood Prom weekend gigs this summer have promised to make it a night to remember.

Stephen Hussey, founder of Urban Soul Orchestra, who will be headlining the stage for the Ibiza night, said: "The Ibiza formula works so well because it is something new and different that appeals to so many people: Ibiza dance tunes meets classical orchestra; stunning stately home meets music festival.

"There is something for all ages to enjoy, whether you wanted to sit back and relax with a glass of bubbly over a picnic in the evening sun or get up and dance the night away - everyone is guaranteed a great time.”

The track list for Ibiza night will be jam packed with Ibiza classics, from Sandstorm by Darude, Waves by Mr Probz and Superstylin' by Groove Armarda, while the track list for the following night will follow a completely different thread.

The National Symphony Orchestra will be joining Only Men Aloud, soprano Philippa Healey and Soul’d As Seen, winners of the inaugural Great British Prom Choir Competition, on August 6 for a set featuring songs from all around the country including The Dam Busters March, Bread of Heaven, Danny Boy and Flower of Scotland.

Justin Pearson, general manager and artistic director of the NSO, said: "NSO is thrilled at the prospect of performing at The Great British Prom. I feel sure that the attractive programme, especially devised for this year's concert, will delight Bowood.

"We have a 50-piece symphony orchestra conducted by Anthony Inglis, who has conducted more concerts at the Royal Albert Hall than any other living conductor. We shall faithfully recreate the buzz of the Last Night of the Proms under immense Bowood skies, thrilling to the 1812 Overture, being charmed by the dazzling diva Philippa Healey, an entire band of pipers, fireworks, Only Men Aloud and a full symphony orchestra. Unmissable."

The trip to Wiltshire will see Mr Inglis revisit familiar country, as he is a former pupil of Marlborough College.

Revival Productions decided to bring the Classic Ibiza and the Great British Prom events to Bowood House on August 5 and August 6 following their success in Norfolk last year, bringing the best tunes from the party island and the best classics from around the United Kingdom together in one weekend.
