THE McDonald’s restaurant on Cockleberry Roundabout welcomed 135 students aged from 14-16, from across Swindon to give them a chance to learn more about the business and have a tour of the restaurant.

The Mayor of Swindon, Maureen Penny, also popped into the restaurant to explore its digital features and meet the local students.

The students, who were mostly studying hospitality and catering, came along with their teachers and lecturers and were told all about the McDonald’s business.

During the visit, they also had the chance to review the customer journey, starting from the digital self-order kiosks right up to receiving the food.

Kerry Camm, the faculty leader at Nova Hreod Academy, said: “The students thoroughly enjoyed coming into the restaurant and learning all about the business – they were overwhelmed by the generosity of McDonald’s.

“We would like to thank all the staff at the restaurant for being so welcoming to us, it was a fantastic day for all.”

Carl Room, local McDonald’s franchisee and owner of nine restaurants in the area, including the one on Cockleberry Roundabout, said: “It is important to us to engage with our community and explain what McDonald’s has to offer in the area, particularly to young people about to start careers.”
