SIGNS Express (Swindon) has helped out local community radio station Swindon 105.5 by donating and installing a selection of exterior signs.

As a community radio station, Swindon 105.5 is mostly funded by grants and donations so station manager Shirley Ludford was cost-conscious when looking for signs to identify its entrance.

Signs Express owner Chris Seston, owner of Signs Express (Swindon), felt compelled to assist with the project after discussing the fantastic work that goes on at Swindon 105.5 with Shirley via social media, and offered to complete the project free of charge.

Through consultation with the client, Chris and his experienced team consulted with Shirley to develop were able to understand what the radio station wanted to achieve with their signage and developed a proposal. During the planning stage, the pair worked closely to ensure the new signs would stay true to Swindon 105.5’s “daring to be different” branding.

It was decided that the community radio station entrance would be adorned with two large exterior wall signs and a smaller door sign, with two additional directional signs to clearly point the way to the studio from the library. Chris chose a durable composite panel material for the signs and digitally printed the striking bright blue and red logo onto the panels before they were installed securely to the walls and door.

It’s clear to see that Shirley and the volunteer 105.5 team were delighted with their bold new signs. After the installation, Chris and his lead sign fitter, Steve Kilick, were invited in for a tour of the studio alongside the station’s student volunteers, and even had a chat with Shirley on air.

Following on from Signs Express’ donation of signs to Swindon 105.5, Switch on to Swindon has offered to donate further signage for the radio station’s patio area. As an ambassador of Switch on to Swindon, a local business community that aims to highlight the town’s strengths, Signs Express (Swindon) said it was thrilled to hear that it would also be supporting Swindon 105.5.

Chris said: “It’s great to see local organisations coming together in Swindon and even better when we can support them too. The volunteer work and training Swindon 105.5 does for the community makes them such an excellent addition to our town, so we were more than happy to help out and look forward to working with Switch on to Swindon for the next project.”
