THE company that employed Swindon dad Jamie Mines, who had to have limbs amputated after suffering an electric shock, will be prosecuted.

Jamie had to have his right leg, both hands and left foot amputated as a result of the injuries he received during the incident on December 19 last year.

He has since been told that his one remaining limb - his left leg - must also be amputated.

In the days and months that followed, over £100,000 was raised for the 33-year-old to help support his recovery and family.

Now, the Health and Safety Executive has confirmed that Boundary Scaffolding, who had employed Jamie, will be prosecuted as a result of the incident.

A spokesman said: “The Health and Safety Executive is prosecuting Boundary Scaffolding Limited and its director Jonathon Lee Griffith-Clack under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. This follows an investigation into an electric shock suffered by a worker at the Kendrick Industrial Estate, Swindon, on December 19.

"The defendants are due at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on September 20.”
