WHEN Samantha Murray decided to have a go at taking a picture of her friend's dog Buddy taking a flying leap into Lydiard Lake, little did she know it would scoop her a Swindon Camera Club prize.
Samantha, 46, of Toothill, doesn’t own a camera but that didn’t put her off trying to catch collie cross Buddy in action.
She said: “My friend’s dad has been trying to get a picture showing a dog leaping into water for ages but his owner JoJo just threw the stick and I kept holding down the shutter so my iPhone 6 Plus went into burst mode.
“Afterwards we looked at the pictures and couldn’t believe I’d got such great shots at the first attempt.”
The picture, which was judged the winner by Advertiser chief photographer Thomas Kelsey, winning her £50 of Love2Shop vouchers, was the first one she posted in Swindon Camera Club’s Facebook group.
She said: “I don’t win much so I was delighted to find out my picture was chosen.”
If you would like to join the club – and be in with a chance of winning the Picture of the Month prize – you need to register by emailing ian.parker@wiltshire.newsquest.co.uk with your name, location, and daytime phone number.
